We had great weather in Chicago. However, winds were 26 gusting up to 38 MPH all day. But it didn't discourage a large audience, attendance of about 65 people and some of the most courageous pilots we've ever seen. Every contestant displayed great sportsmanship and incredible flying skills! At half-time we were treated to an amazing helicopter demonstration sponsored by Strictly RC Hobby Shop's sponsor pilot, Phil Woyner.
The club gave out small toys to the kids and provided music, food and beverages to everyone.

- CONTEST #3 / Egg Drop - Contestants are paired off. Each receive turn to fly their plane while the other catches egg. Egg is placed inside a Dixie cup, cup is attached to top of plane. Pilot inverts overhead releasing egg.

1st PLACE WINNERS: Patrick H. and Rick S. PRIZE: $25 Gift Card and 5 bottles of Great Plane's adhesive/CA products.

2nd PLACE WINNERS: Don Z. and Mike Z. PRIZE: $20 Gift Card and Micro-Fastener's helicopter fastener assortment kit.

3rd PLACE WINNERS: Ted N. and Tibor G. PRIZE: Great Plane's glo-plug caddy and Futaba t-shirt.

Well guys... Here's Monday's weather outlook...
Labor Day: Mostly sunny, no rain, with a high near 67. North northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
After conferring with many club members, the consensus is.... Go ahead as planned!!!

So.. call us crazy!!! It should be a fun and challenging day.
