New 2008 Club Fuel Purchase
Fuel PurchaseMike Meitus picked up the fuel
and will be bringing it to the Monday March 3rd meeting for
distribution.
The club fuel purchase is now over.
The club discussed
the 2008 fuel purchase. After the meeting the club was contacted by
Cindy of Al’s Hobbies who indicated at as of March 1st, all
fuels were going up in price by $2 per gallon. As a result, it has been
determined that the fuel purchase will take place at the February
meeting. Any members wishing to participate in the purchase will need to
bring their money for their purchase. Cindy has indicated that all fuels
will be priced until March 1st at the bulk price she offered
last year. The following is the price list. We will post an order form
on the internet site (see below) and have forms available at the
February meeting.

I did some "quick" Internet research into into what
these different fuels are used for. This may or may not be totally
correct so please email me if I got it wrong.

What is the shelf life of the fuel?
Unopened and stored in ideal conditions (between 60-80 degrees) it will remain
usable for several (5-7) years.
Opened would vary according to how much moisture the fuel has sponged out of the
air. Keep it capped.
A quick way to ruin a gallon of fuel is to drain your tank at the end of your
flying day back into the fuel jug.
Percentage (%) means how much nitro it contains.
Morgan Cool Power 5%, 10%, 15% - Nitro fuel, recommended for RINGED
engines, mainly because castor oil does offer a little more protection than
straight synthetic.
Morgan Omega 5%, 10%, 15% - Nitro fuel, recommended for NON-RINGED
engines, a Castor/Synthetic blend for ABC, ABN engines.
Wildcat Premium 10%, 15% - Nitro fuel containing 16% total oil with a
composition of 80% synthetic and 20% degummed racing castor and can be used in
all 2-stroke engines such as ABC or AAC ball bearing engines.
Wildcat Xtra 10%, 15% - Nitro fuel containing 18% total oil with a
composition of 80% synthetic and 20% degummed racing castor. The extra 2% oil
being for ringed, bushed engines, break-in, and where extra oil is simply wanted
or required by warranty.
Morgan Heli 15%, (standard Heli) is 17% oil content. 30% contains
22% oil content.
Magnum 30% Heli - Designed for better Performance with Excellent
Cooling. 22% Synthetic Oil that ensures, longevity in the harshness of heli
Environments.
20/20 - Power Master says it's a "Pattern Blend" for the YS 4
stroke and the OS 140 EFI engines.
FAI - Contains no nitro at all, used for high compression engines
designed for zero or low nitro fuels. |
