Saturday
May12th... We all have had tons of fun in this hobby and we
learned many things from others. Now it's time to give something
back. All flyers (club members or not) are asked to bring and
showcase their various heli's and aircraft and participate in this
special scouting event. Even if it is too windy to fly, please
come on out anyway and just gather up a group of scouts and give a talk
and demo about the equipment used, how it works, how things fly, radios,
servos, etc. You'll think of something and all will have a fun
time too!

Grass Runway Project
Update
Thanks to all those who volunteered for our annual spring field cleanup
this last weekend (March 31st). Our grass is looking better already! Also
the club will again be rolling the field as soon as the still soggy soil
lets us. This will flatten out the humps & bumps and hopefully make
for a nice smooth runway. Although this is very costly to do, it
is well worth it and is an example of what your membership dues help pay for.
Thank you for your support!
Congratulations!

GeorgeS. won the grand prize at our Christmas party. A new
slow fly stick setup. Hope to see you at the Dome soon with your
new plane
George!
A special thanks goes out to all our club sponsors Strictly RC, Al's
Hobby & True RC, who donated the cool prizes!

FIELD ROLLING
UPDATE: The weather forecast looks
favorable for most of the day so we are going to commit to rolling even
if we get some light sprinkles in the early morning.
Once again be rolling our field on Friday
April 27 8am till about 4:30pm We will need volunteers to drive
and take turns rolling.

The machine drives like car, but usually you need a break after an
hour. Rotating the drivers would be great.

Lipo battery fires DO happen! Keep your lipos in a safe container
always. If your lipo starts to heat up or bloat, soak it in water.
You don't want these cells loose inside your car or house as they can
self-ignite several hours later after a crash.
Here is a recent lipo fire pic sent in by one of our members after a
recent crash .
